Being a 2lb dog, Strummer has a hard time finding other dogs to play with. Often times puppies are too rambunctious for her, but that wasn't the case with Penny, my brother and his girlfriend's new little rescue pup!

There seemed to be a lot of, "Where's Strummer?" this weekend while we were in Southern California.
At our friend Josh's house, we found her in a corner, nestled in a blanket on the floor.

When we returned home, within minutes of being in the house, she wanted to get in bed so badly, she jumped in to the bag it was still in! Silly girl!

Strummer is not an only furball, in fact, she has two VERY big brothers, Beamish & Scurvy. The only problem is, she can be a bit timid around them, especially when they're sleeping on the couch. Her solution? MEAT ISLAND!

When Strummer jumps up & finds the massive felines having a lounge, she retreats to the t-bone pillow & waits for them to leave, so she can run around on the couch.
(Why yes, she IS a vegan dog, but no animals were harmed in the making of this ridiculous pillow.)

Okay, so this isn't a blog for humans, it's a blog for the World's Cutest Tiny Chihuahua, but I adore my baby bear so much, I thought it would be OK to slip in this one, so you can see the cuteness.

This is her, "yeah, OKAY.." face, when she knows someone is doting on her. Next thing you know, she'll be using her paws to spring off your face, so she can go run around.

On a recent trip, we were joined by Isa Chandra Moskowitz, vegan cookbook author, American Idol, & maintainer of good hair, who managed to snap a great shot of a sneaky Strummer, climbing out of her bag!

My mother mentioned that the photos I've posted so far don't do justice to the cuteness that is Miss Strummer & I agree! She's typically a waggly tailed little lover, especially when it comes to her Mom & Dad. She loves to stand on Ryan's shoulder, so we call her our parrot. I taught her to attack with kisses & here she's doing just that, but not quite where you would want to be kissed!

Welcome to Strummer Calling, home of photos & video of "The Only Pup That Matters"! Strummer is a 2 lb female chihuahua named after Joe Strummer, singer & guitar player for The Clash, also known as "The Only Band That Matters". While this will normally be a spot for photos & videos of our 2 lbs of terror, I figure it's best to start with the story of how Strummer came in to our lives, a strange tale we tell time & time again.

On the day before Fathers Day in 2008, we were taking a walk to our co-op, partaking in our usual routine of fawning over every dog we see. As we approached two men & a tiny chihuahua, I couldn't help but comment on how adorable this pint sized puppy was! Next thing I know, I am being told to take the dog, as they didn't want it & claimed to have found it on the sidewalk. Not one to leave an animal behind, we walked away with a shivering, flea ridden, hungry 1.5 lb puppy. Over the next few weeks, we checked the area for lost dog signs, posted & read ads, & no one claimed the little one, & so the era of Strummer began.
